Professor Li-Chiang Lin

Li-Chiang Lin, who has received two awards for his outstanding teaching, is also an exceptional researcher. On December 8, 2021, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry (I&EC) published one of his papers, thereby accepting him into the Industrial & Engineering Chemistry 2021 Class of Influential Researchers–The Americas. Chosen from a large and talented group, he had been invited to submit to the journal, with his selection for the honor being based on whether the paper was accepted and published. He is among 36 researchers selected from institutions around the world.

The selected researchers, who are in the first decade of their careers as independent researchers, were identified through an open call for nominations. The global team of editors and editorial advisory board members identified this class of influential, early career researchers on the basis of the quality and impact of their research.

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry has been at the forefront of chemical engineering research since 1909. It is the largest, oldest, most cited, and most selective general interest chemical engineering journals with global visibility across all facets of the chemistry profession.

Earlier this year, Dr. Lin was also chosen to participate in the AIChE 2021 'Futures' publication. AIChE Futures are published annually and provide access to pioneering early career research in chemical engineering. During the publication year, there is a session at the Annual AIChE meeting where several of the authors present their research.

Also in 2021, Lin was chosen as an Early Career Editorial Board Member for the Elsevier journal, Separation and Purification Technology.

Lin, who joined the William G. Lowrie Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering as an assistant professor in 2016, is currently an adjunct associate professor in CBE since accepting a position as an associate professor at National Taiwan University in August of this year.
