Leadership and Service Opportunities

Although the chemical engineering undergraduate program is rigorous, students can maximize their experience and expand their skills and social and professional networks by getting involved in a student organization. There is a wide range on offer! Getting involved in an organization is an excellent way to have fun, meet people, make friends, and gain skills in things beyond the chemical engineering curriculum. It is a great way to show future employers that you have skills in leadership, team work, organizing, communication, and time management, among other things--all things employers love to see.

Two of the more popular student organizations for ChemE students are the American Institute for Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the leading professional organization for chemical engineers, and ChemE Car.

Another organization specifically related to our department is the Society for Petroleum Engineering.
