Biography

Leah is a 4th-year Ph.D. student in Dr. Brunelli's lab group, studying the design of zeolites for heterogeneous catalysis. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in May 2020 from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. Leah has additional research experience from a National Science Foundation REU at Virginia Tech during the summer of 2019, where she studied the integration of microalgae into wastewater treatment processes. Following graduation with a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Ohio State (expected graduation in May 2025), Leah is interested in pursuing a career in the government or in industry with a focus in either energy and sustainability or defense. Outside of research, Leah's interests include the Cincinnati Bengals (Who Dey!), running and triathlons, playing the piano, and reading.
