AIChE’s “35 Under 35”

Outcomes are better when people with diverse expertise, backgrounds and perspectives are brought to problem-solving. AIChE has recognized the work of Bucknell University’s Assistant Professor Elif Miskioglu (’15 MS/PhD) in this regard by naming her to its “2020 35 Under 35” list.

Professor Miskioglu works to help future engineers surmount societal challenges in science and engineering, promoting greater inclusivity.

Her research focuses on studying the development of engineering expertise, with a specific focus on 1) the construct of intuition and its role in on-the-job judgements and 2) evidence-based methods for improving the support structures of underrepresented minorities in STEM.
