Doctoral student Kai Chen wins Klein Travel Award

Posted:

Kai Chen, a Ph.D. student in Winston Ho’s group, has been selected as a winner of the 2019 Elias Klein Founders’ Travel Supplement Award by the North American Membrane Society (NAMS).

The selection of this award is based, in part, on academic achievements. The award provides up to $500 for Kai to present a paper, entitled “Amine-based Facilitated-Transport Membrane Module Fabrication and Scale-up for CO2 Capture from Flue Gas,” at the NAMS Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA on May 12-15, 2019.

Earlier in his graduate program at Ohio State, Kai had the distinct honor of being the first recipient of the newly-minted Dr. Robert S. Brodkey Endowed Scholarship. The alumni-funded scholarship was the first-ever graduate-level scholarship for a CBE student, which is intended to attract and nurture talented grad students.
