Graduate School Matching Tuition and Fee Awards (GFA)

To request Graduate School Matching Tuition and Fee Awards (GFAs) from the Graduate School:

1. The faculty member (principal investigator) must complete a request that alights with the College and Graduate School priorities. A Pre-Approval Form must be received by Assistant Dean La’Tonia Stiner-Jones at least 3 weeks before any proposal is to be submitted. Faculty are required to attach copies of the College of Engineering priority statement, proposed budget, and award announcement to the Pre-Approval Form. 2. CBE Process: The CBE Graduate Studies Chair, S.T. Yang, and CBE Department Chair, Andre Palmer, must sign off on the Pre-Approval Form. The faculty member who initiated the process will submit to La’Tonia Stiner-Jones for review and approval.

3. Important Follow Up Step: If your GFA request is approved by the Graduate School and your proposal is awarded funding, the faculty member must notify the Graduate School Director of Fellowship Services, Angela Bennett and Bill Cory.  The faculty member must also give the names of the students who will receive the fee authorizations, as well as the semester/year the appointment will begin to Angela Bennett and Bill Cory.
