Professor Rathman has been a Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Ohio State University since 1991, following seven years in industrial reasearch & development with Conoco Inc. and The Clorox Company. 

Expertise

Professor Rathman's current research focuses on chemical informatics, computational toxicology, quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) modeling, statistical data analysis, and computational risk assessment of complex chemical systems, with emphasis on pharmaceuticals, food ingredients, and cosmetics.

Professor Rathman has taught many courses in the chemical engineering undergraduate and graduate curricula. He currently teaches courses on design and analysis of experiments, modeling and simulation, and the application of molecular informatics and machine learning to develop in silico models for chemical activity.
